Reunion Island is a western island of the Indian Ocean in the southern hemisphere as well as a French overseas department and a region.

Reunion Island is the site where IRD plans the first field trials in France of the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) against mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus).

We also selected this site to test boosted SIT in the field.
